Who is the service for?

Breathing Space is for anyone in Scotland over the age of 16, feeling low, anxious or depressed.

How Breathing Space can help

Trained advisors at Breathing Space are available to listen and offer information and advice. The service is open in the evenings and weekends when family, friends or GPs may be unavailable.

Talking about your feelings is the first step towards getting the help that you need. Breathing Space aims to provide::

  • help at an early stage to stop problems getting worse
  • information and advice if you don't know where to turn to
  • empathy, understanding and hope

As well as a website, which contains information on mental health topics, the Breathing Space phone service is free and confidential.
