John (Jack) Rae is chair of the Staff Governance Committee at NHS 24​.

Areas of expertise

John (Jack) Rae began his career in nursing working for 11 years in medical and surgical areas. He then moved into nursing education where he was responsible for introducing modular training.

Subsequently, he led the transfer of nursing and midwifery education locally into the higher education sector, and was awarded personal professorship in 2000.​

John brings to the board extensive in-depth understanding of the NHS in Scotland and the UK and the management of considerable change. ​
