Esther Roberton

Role: Non-Executive Director (Chair)

Esther was appointed as Chair of the NHS 24 Board for a period of four years from 1 April 2015. 

She lives in Fife with her husband and two sons.​

Areas of expertise

Esther has a long-standing commitment to the social and economic development of Scotland. 

From 1994 until 1999, Esther was actively involved in the campaign to secure Scotland's Parliament as Co-ordinator for the Scottish Constitutional Convention and, at the invitation of the then Secretary of State for Scotland Donald Dewar, as a member of the Consultative Steering Group that developed the standing orders for the Parliament.​

In May 2017 Esther was appointed by Ministers to undertake an independent review of the Regulation of Legal Services in Scotland. She published her report in October 2018.
