Band 5 nursing jobs offer a different type of learning environment for nurses with less experience than our band 6 clinical staff. Our band 5 nurses work in a supervised team, which offers a supportive training program to help them improve their skills.
This critical role requires professionals with excellent communication skills to provide a comprehensive telephone triage and clinical assessment service to patients based all over Scotland.
To be considered for this role you'll be a registered adult nurse on part 1 of the NMC. We’re looking for professionals who enjoy teamwork and who're keen to develop their clinical assessment and decision making skills.
Our band 5 nurses work 24-37.5 hours per week during our contact centres' high-demand hours, including night shift and public holidays. Our contracts are flexible.
“I’ve learned more in 6 months at NHS 24 than in my previous 2 years working in a primary care position. There’s so much more diversity in this role and a greater chance of career progression. I’m even going back to university which is being part-funded by NHS 24 and I’ll still be able to work my shifts, study and be home for my family.”
“The training program is great as it teaches autonomy and encourages us to use our own knowledge and decision making. I'm better supported here in terms of teamwork and personal development, plus the skills I’m learning are transferable, including management skills, decision making and call handling.”
